PRICING QUESTIONS
What will a website cost me over three years?
Launch comes to $4,920 over 36 months at list price, with care paid the whole time. Business comes to $9,800, and Custom starts at $18,120. Those totals are the build fee plus care and nothing else, because care already pays for hosting and your domain. Anything from the add-on menu adds its listed price on top, like $500 for an extra page.
How much does a website cost per month?
Care runs $95 a month on Launch and $175 on Business, and Custom care is $295. That fee already pays for your domain registration and hosting, SSL included, so there's no separate hosting bill. We also watch the site and keep it updated, and one content edit a month (up to 30 minutes of text and image changes) is part of it. Care is month-to-month.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
Each plan puts the same 5 limits in writing, including the page count and who writes the copy. Launch, for example, is 3 pages with 1 round of revisions. Anything past a limit comes off our add-on menu at a price you see first, such as an extra page for $500 or copywriting at $300 a page. Work that's on no line of the menu is $125 an hour.
How much does a web designer charge per hour?
We charge $125 an hour, and only for work that isn't on our add-on menu. Almost everything else has a fixed price you see before we start, because a flat number is easier to plan around than a running meter. The plans work the same way: Launch is $1,500 with its scope written down, so the price never moves.
What does website maintenance include, and do I need it?
Maintenance is our care plan, and every build includes it. It covers hosting, monitoring, security and updates, plus one content edit a month of up to 30 minutes, and one of us looks over every site we host each month. New pages or features come from the add-on menu instead, priced before we build them.
What happens to my site if I cancel the care plan?
The site comes down, because we host it and its design and code stay with us. You keep your domain name and the text and photos you supplied, and you can take them to any designer or builder you like. Care is month-to-month, so you can cancel anytime.
How many rounds of revisions do I get?
Launch includes 1 round of revisions and Business includes 2, while Custom sets its own number in your written quote. If you want another, an extra round is $250 from the add-on menu. Sending all your changes for a round in one list makes each round go further.
When do I pay, and can I get a refund?
On Launch and Business, you pay after approving a written scope and price that we work out with you on a call, and work starts after that. If you pay and then change your mind before the kickoff call, you get a full refund. Custom starts with a $350 scoping session, credited to the build, followed by a written quote and a deposit.
Can I update the website myself?
On Business and Custom, yes: their pages are built with content you can edit. On every plan, care includes one content edit a month from us, up to 30 minutes of text and image changes, which covers most price and hours updates. A new page is $500 from the add-on menu, and work that's on no line of the menu is $125 an hour.
Who fixes my site if it gets hacked or goes down?
We do, at no extra cost, as long as the site is on our care plan. Monitoring is part of care, so we're watching for trouble, and fixing an outage or a hack is covered by the monthly fee you already pay. If you spot something first, call or write, and you'll hear back within 24 hours.
